For context, most horses will race at a track a dozen times without ever winning there. To win half your races at a specific course is the kind of stat that makes trainers and punters take notice whenever an entry at Bangor appears.

Donald McCain's yard in Cheshire has been in strong form this season, sending out 51 winners — a serious number that speaks to a well-organised, confident operation. Present Fair fits the profile of a horse McCain knows how to place: competing typically at Class 5, the bread-and-butter level of British racing, where the yard has squeezed out 3 wins from 15 races, or 1 in every 5. That's a solid conversion rate at a level where placing horses in the right spot matters enormously.

What gives this profile some genuine intrigue is the recent form. Two wins from the last six races, including that Bangor victory on 4 July 2025, suggests a horse that found form in the second half of last year. The sequence reads 1-2-15-1-10-5 going back from most recent — two wins bookending a middling patch. The 15th-place finish is forgettable, but the wins on either side of it tell you this horse is still capable when conditions suit.
