The real story here is Precious Spartan's love affair with Ripon. At that Yorkshire track, the horse has won three of five races — a 60% win rate that stands out dramatically against its overall record. That affinity showed itself decisively on 29 May 2025 when it scored its maiden win there, and struck again at the same course on 4 August that year. Since then, more than a year has passed without another victory, though recent runs suggest it is still competitive. In its last six races the horse has shown form ranging from ninth to third, with that third-place effort coming most recently.

The numbers reveal a horse that performs best on normal ground: three wins from ten races (30%), compared to thin returns elsewhere. Distance-wise, it excels between 1m1f and 1m2f, winning three of thirteen races in that range. In Class 6 races — the lower rungs of British racing — it has won three of eleven starts (27%). Regular jockey Rowan Scott has yet to land a winner aboard Precious Spartan from seven attempts, despite the horse's proven ability.
