Practical Move

What keeps things interesting is that Practical Move is still only three years old and raced as recently as yesterday, so the story is very much still being written. Horses at this age are still developing physically and mentally, and it is not unheard of for a young horse to click into gear after a string of near-misses and disappointments. The single placed finish shows there is at least some ability there — the question is whether the team can find the right conditions to unlock it.

For now, though, zero wins from seven races is a cold, hard fact. A horse that wins 0 from 7 is yet to convert any of its opportunities, and the recent downward drift in form — that twelfth place being a low point — will give the trainer plenty to think about heading into the next run.
