That is a significant moment for any horse, and it suggests there is more to Pietro than a horse who simply fills out the field. His first win had arrived a year earlier at Epsom Downs in August 2024, another track with character, and since then he has built steadily. His most recent victory came at Wolverhampton in March 2026, making it two wins from his last six races — a rich run of form by any measure.

Pietro does his best work on normal ground conditions. From six races in those circumstances, he has won twice — that is 1 in every 3 races, which is an impressive conversion rate and worth keeping in mind when the going is described as standard.
