That 11% win rate with this horse slightly outpaces the overall record, but the sample is small enough that it may simply reflect one good day. Iain Jardine's yard at Carrutherstown is clearly a busy operation with 57 winners sent out this season, so Pickersgill is one of many in the string and shows every sign of being a useful second-tier performer — the kind of horse that justifies its place at the track without ever threatening to be a star.
