Passing Chance made a perfect start to her racing career this week, winning on debut at Uttoxeter on 16 October. The 4-year-old is trained by
Olly Murphy, whose Wilmcote yard in Warwickshire has been in exceptional form, sending out 146 winners already this season. With just one race under her belt and a 100 per cent win rate so far, Passing Chance is a horse still very much in her infancy as a racehorse — but at least she has got off on the right foot. Fresh off her maiden victory, she remains active and in training, and how she progresses from here will tell us whether this debut success is the start of something genuine or simply a promising first chapter in what might be a longer learning curve.
