The fact she raced only yesterday means she is right in the thick of a campaign, and with just two runs under her belt there is still plenty of time for the full picture to emerge. Horses can take a few races to hit their stride, and a third and a fourth from two starts is not a bad foundation to build on.
She is trained by Karen Jewell, operating out of a small yard in Borden, Kent. It is not one of the big-name stables with dozens of horses and a string of big-race winners, but the yard has sent out three winners already this season, which tells you that Jewell knows how to get a horse ready to perform. Small operations that still manage to get winners on the board tend to do so through attention to detail rather than sheer numbers, and that can be a real advantage for an individual horse.
Parish Girl has not won yet, but she is young, active, and in the care of a trainer who is clearly getting results. The next run will be worth watching.
