Nicky Richards trains Parisencore from his yard at Greystoke in Cumbria, and this season that operation has been in excellent shape — 39 winners sent out already. Richards has spoken warmly about the horse, describing him as a good, consistent performer who is "nearly top class", pointing to a strong run at the prestigious Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr as evidence. Jockey Danny McMenamin is the regular partner, riding him in 23 of his 27 races and picking up 3 of those wins together. That long-term partnership matters — McMenamin clearly knows how this horse ticks.

Perth is where Parisencore looks most at home, winning 2 of his 5 races there. Two wins from five at one track might not sound dramatic, but when you factor in the overall win rate, it shows a horse who genuinely thrives on that course. His sweet spot is Class 3 races — one level below the very top tier — where he has won 3 from 12 (25%), suggesting he is exactly competitive at the right level: good enough to win regularly, without being thrown in against horses clearly out of his league.

Richards has also noted that Parisencore relaxes well when he leads and jumps cleanly, which in racing terms means he does not waste energy fighting his jockey — always a useful trait. At ten, with a win just days ago, he is proof that some horses simply get better with experience.
