Conversely, the ninth-place finish suggests a significant dip when the surface doesn't favour it, which is the sort of detail that matters when planning where to run next.

Richard Hannon's yard at Herridge is having a strong season with 118 winners already, so Paper View is in the hands of a trainer who knows how to get two-year-olds competing. The fact that the horse has won twice in its last six races, and raced just yesterday, indicates it is actively campaigned and clearly capable of turning up on any given day. There is room for improvement in consistency, but the foundation is solid enough.
