Pampar Lady

At seven years old, she is in the prime of her racing life, and her recent form suggests she is hitting a real purple patch. Two wins from her last six races is a significant uptick on her overall record of roughly 1 win in every 8 races. Those back-to-back victories — at Cork in August 2025 and then at Listowel in September — showed she was building into something. Since then, her last four runs read 4th, 7th, 3rd, 3rd, which tells you she has not fallen off a cliff. She is still competitive, still placing, still turning up.

What is worth noting is the partnership with jockey Sean Flanagan. He has ridden her six times without a win, which is a curious subplot given that her two career victories came without him in the saddle. That is not necessarily a criticism — plenty of factors influence results — but it is the kind of detail a racing fan would quietly file away.

She is trained by Gavin Cromwell, who operates out of Navan in County Meath and has had a prolific season with 96 winners on the board. That is a yard firing on all cylinders, which tends to mean the horses in it are well-placed and well-prepared. Pampar Lady raced just yesterday, so she is very much in active campaign mode right now, and with a trainer in that kind of form behind her, another win is far from out of the question.
