Palina

Palina is a 3-year-old still learning her trade, with one top-3 finish from two career races. She finished third most recently, just a day ago, and before that ran ninth — the kind of erratic early form you see in young horses finding their way. Her trainer, Kevin Thomas Coleman, runs a modest but productive operation at Carrick-on-Suir in County Tipperary. The yard has sent out eight winners this season, so there is clearly competence there, and Coleman will be hoping Palina settles into a pattern as she gains experience. At this early stage, she remains very much a work in progress.
