Orkneys Jack

His recent form tells a familiar story — glimpses of promise punctuated by disappointment. A third-place finish two races ago suggested he might be closing in on that elusive first win, but since then he has slipped back, finishing fifth and seventh in his last two outings. Coming off a race just yesterday, Orkneys Jack remains an active runner, which at least speaks to his soundness and willingness to keep competing. For a horse with no wins at this stage of his career, staying healthy enough to race regularly is half the battle. Whether he will ever reach the winner's circle remains uncertain, but for now he remains a solid middle-field runner — the kind of horse that keeps meeting conditions just slightly beyond his reach.
