Orange Diamond

The current form is the kind trainers dream about. In the last six races, Orange Diamond has won twice, finished second twice, and placed third and fourth on the other two occasions. Not a single bad run in the bunch. The horse raced just yesterday, which tells you everything about how well it's going — yards don't keep running horses that are tired or struggling.

The partnership with jockey Jack Andrews deserves a mention of its own. In eight races together, Andrews has ridden Orange Diamond to four wins. That's a 50% win rate — one in every two rides ends in victory. That is an extraordinary number. Most jockey-horse combinations that good end up in much bigger races. It suggests Andrews understands exactly how this horse wants to be ridden.

Then there's Worcester. Orange Diamond has won three times from just five visits to that track, and the first career win came there back in July 2025. Three wins from five races at a single course — 60% — is the kind of course form that makes professional punters very interested. Some horses simply love a particular track's layout, its bends, its ground. Whatever Worcester offers, this horse thrives on it. Normal ground conditions suit it too: three wins from eight races on a standard surface, which is where it clearly does its best work.

The yard itself is in fine form. T Ellis has sent out 30 winners from Rugby this season alone, and Orange Diamond is one of the bigger contributors to that tally. The horse competes mainly at Class 5 — the bread-and-butter level of racing, below the glamour events — but it dominates there, winning 4 of 14 races at that grade. It's not about to trouble the big festivals, but as a horse that turns up, runs hard, and wins races with satisfying regularity, Orange Diamond is exactly what the sport is built on.
