Onslow Gardens

The recent form does at least hint at some life. Looking at the last six races in reverse order, Onslow Gardens finished second, then seventh, then ninth, then third, then ninth, and most recently seventh. That third-place and that runner-up finish suggest the horse can get close — it just hasn't been able to go one better when it counts. The yard of Kevin and Lauren Frost, based at Averham Park in Nottinghamshire, has sent out three winners this season, so it's not a team lacking confidence or capability. Getting Onslow Gardens to add to that tally, though, remains the challenge.

The horse competes mainly at Class 5, which is the entry-level tier of British racing — the kind of races designed to give horses every opportunity to win. And yet, across 11 races at that level, the record reads zero wins from eleven. Regular partner Alec Voikhansky has been aboard for five of those attempts without getting off the mark either. With a race just yesterday, Onslow Gardens is clearly being kept busy and in good enough shape to keep running — the search for that elusive first win goes on.
