The partnership with jockey Adam Caffrey is well-established at this point — nine of those 11 races together, and while neither has managed to get their heads in front as a combination, that level of consistency in booking the same rider tells you the team around this horse believes something is coming. The most recent run just four races ago produced that place finish, so there are signs of life in the recent form.

Trainer Adrian McGuinness operates out of Lusk in County Dublin, and this is a yard that clearly knows what it's doing — 39 winners already on the board this season is a genuinely healthy return and puts McGuinness firmly in the conversation as one of the more productive operations in Irish racing right now. When a trainer of that output keeps running a horse, it usually means they see something worth persisting with. One Cool Bear hasn't delivered yet, but at three years old, the clock hasn't run out.
