What might give some patience to those watching is the yard behind it. Eoin Griffin operates out of Slieverue in County Kilkenny, and his team has sent out eight winners already this season — a decent return that suggests Griffin knows how to get a horse to the track in the right shape when the time is right. Sometimes it simply takes a young three-year-old a handful of races to work out what racing is actually about, and with Griffin in charge, there's at least a competent hand on the wheel.

Omissions raced just one day ago, so it is very much mid-campaign and anything could change quickly. Whether Griffin finds a softer opportunity or a different type of race that suits better, the next run will tell us plenty more about whether this is a horse with improvement hiding somewhere, or simply one that needs more time to find its feet.
