Nzuri

The recent form makes for interesting reading. That second place a few runs back showed she can mix it with horses who go on to win, and back-to-back fourth-place finishes suggest she is running consistently in the mid-pack rather than trailing home out the back. The seventh and tenth placings are the blots, but three-year-olds can be inconsistent — they are still learning the job.

Having raced just yesterday, Nzuri is clearly a busy horse whose trainer is giving her plenty of opportunities to find her feet. At this stage of a young horse's career, experience is often as valuable as results. The question now is whether all those miles are building toward something, or whether a first win remains elusive for a while yet.
