A tenth and a sixteenth in the two most recent races suggest the horse is currently finding life tough, and with that last win now 13 months in the rear-view mirror, the yard will be keen to rediscover that form.

What keeps the interest alive is that Nuevo Slovo raced just yesterday, so this is a horse very much in the thick of its season. At three years old, there is still time for things to click. Young horses can be maddeningly inconsistent — one day finishing last, the next producing something surprising. Whether Nuevo Slovo has another Ayr-style performance in it remains to be seen, but the horse is young, active, and trained by a yard that is clearly getting winners out this term.
