Over distances between five and six and a half furlongs, Note To Self has won one race from four attempts, a 25 per cent win rate that suggests the shorter trip suits it far better than longer distances. That breakthrough win came over five furlongs at Lingfield, and given the horse has raced there twice with a win and a second place, there appears to be genuine affinity for the track. Recent form shows signs of improvement too: after a difficult spell, the horse has finished second and third in its last three outings, indicating it is starting to find its feet. With the Gosden yard in excellent form this season — they have already saddled 140 winners — Note To Self has every chance to develop into a useful competitor, provided the team can keep it competing at the right distances.
