The partnership with jockey Mohammed Tabti has been the most consistent feature of its career, the pair having raced together 10 times without a win between them. That is a long run of fruitless collaboration, and at some point you have to wonder whether a change of rider might shake something loose. Recent form offers little encouragement either: its last six results read 5th, 6th, 9th, 9th, 6th, 4th, a sequence that trends in the wrong direction. It raced just yesterday, which shows the team is not giving up on it.
What makes the situation more striking is the level at which this is happening. Class 6 is the lowest tier of British racing — essentially the entry-level races where horses who struggle elsewhere come to find their feet. No Nay Nevermind has run 11 times at this level without winning once. That is not a horse being asked to punch above its weight; that is a horse that has had every opportunity handed to it and still cannot finish first. Trainer Iain Jardine, based in Carrutherstown, has sent out 57 winners this season, so the yard clearly knows how to get horses winning. No Nay Nevermind, so far, has not been one of them.
