What we do have is the breeding. The sire, Blue Point, was one of the fastest horses in Britain and Ireland during his racing career, winning top sprints at the highest level before becoming a stallion. Territories, the sire of the dam, was similarly built for speed. Put the two together and you have a two-year-old whose family tree is essentially a blueprint for a quick, sharp racehorse — the type that tends to hit the ground running early in life rather than needing time to fill out and mature.
Whether No More Pino has inherited any of that talent is the question only today's race can answer. First-time runners are always a leap of faith, but this one at least arrives with the right credentials on paper.
