The trainer, Richard Hannon, is one of the best in the business when it comes to two-year-olds. His yard at Herridge in Wiltshire has sent out 115 winners already this season — that is a serious number, and it tells you this is a team that knows how to have a horse ready on debut day. Hannon has a long track record of introducing young horses gently and improving them steadily through their first season, so the fact that Night Star is making a first appearance now suggests they feel the horse is ready.
Beyond that, there is simply nothing more to say yet. One race will tell us more than any amount of pedigree study.
