When that team puts a young horse on a racecourse, there is usually a plan behind it. A fifth-place finish first time out for a two-year-old from this yard is far from a disaster — plenty of future stars have needed a first run simply to learn what racing is about.

It is far too early to draw any conclusions about Nevermindtherain. One race, no wins, no places — the record is as blank as a fresh page. But being two years old and trained where this horse is trained means the story is only just beginning.
