The broader numbers are modest. Two wins from 17 races is a 12% win rate — roughly 1 in every 8 or 9 races — and she has not won in her last six outings. Her recent form figures make for uncomfortable reading too, finishing towards the back of the field in most of those runs. The last win came at Dundalk in January 2025, which is now fourteen months ago, and the drought since then will have tested the patience of everyone at Ian Williams's yard in Alvechurch.

Williams himself is having a productive season — 92 winners sent out is a healthy total for a British trainer — and regular jockey Luke McAteer has been on board for 11 of Nedita's 17 races. That partnership has produced both wins, giving them an 18% win rate together, or roughly 1 in every 5 or 6 rides. The fact that McAteer keeps coming back suggests there is a belief in the yard that the right race, at the right track, can unlock her again.

At five years old and still racing — she ran just yesterday — Nedita is a horse whose profile is easy to summarise: she is what she is, and she is best at Dundalk. Whether she can find that winning formula again is the only interesting question left to answer.
