The highlight so far came just this week at Newmarket, where Napa took its first career win on 3 May 2026. Newmarket is one of the most prestigious venues in British racing — wide, flat, and unforgiving of horses that are not genuinely good — so winning there as a young, lightly raced horse is a meaningful marker. Before that, Napa had finished fourth on its debut, which means the improvement from that first run to a win second time out is exactly the kind of progression that gets people interested.
Napa is trained by Kevin Philippart De Foy, whose yard is based in Newmarket itself. With 40 winners already on the board this season, it is clearly a stable operating in fine form — and a horse like Napa, with a win already in the bag and only two races under its belt, will be one to keep a close eye on as the season develops.
