The seven-year-old has built a solid career record of 6 wins from 35 races, finishing in the top three on a further 19 occasions — so it has been competitive in roughly 7 of every 10 races it has entered. It operates mostly at Class 5, which is the bread-and-butter level of British racing rather than the glamour end, but that does not make it any less competitive. At that level, Naasma has won 5 of 24 races, or just over 1 in 5, which represents a genuinely good return.

What sharpens the picture further is the distance. Stretch Naasma out to a mile and three or four furlongs — roughly two laps of a park — and it becomes a different animal. Five wins from just 12 races at that trip is a 42% win rate, or nearly 1 in every 2.5 races. That is an extraordinary number. It suggests a horse that has found its conditions and knows exactly what to do with them.

Jockey Paddy Bradley has been the regular partner, riding in 18 of its 35 races and picking up 3 of those 6 wins together. Pat Phelan's yard has been in decent form this season with 8 winners sent out, so the operation is ticking along. Naasma raced just one day ago, which means it is right in the middle of an active campaign.

The one caveat worth noting is that its last win came at Windsor in September 2025, and its most recent six runs have not produced a victory. Horses do go through quieter patches, and with recent finishes of sixth, third, and fourth, it has not been disgraced. With Windsor and the right trip, the ingredients are still there.
