My Policy

The partnership with Patrick M O'Brien is the defining relationship of My Policy's career so far. The pair have lined up together nine times, which speaks to a real working bond between horse and rider — yet that alliance has produced zero wins from those nine attempts. Nine races is a meaningful sample. It is not bad luck; it is a pattern. Whether that points to the horse needing a different kind of ride, a different trip, or simply a softer field to break through remains the question My Policy's team will be wrestling with.

What keeps things interesting is that My Policy raced just one day ago, meaning this is a horse in active campaign right now. The places are there — four of them — which means there is real ability beneath the surface. Plenty of horses never figure in the finish at all. The step from placed to winning can sometimes be a small one, a matter of finding the right race on the right day. My Policy has not found that day yet, but with 12 races on the clock and a yard clearly willing to keep trying, the search is very much ongoing.
