My Cubby Bear

Trained by Henry de Bromhead at Knockeen in County Waterford, My Cubby Bear is part of a yard in excellent form this season, with 110 winners already sent out. That kind of win rate suggests a trainer who knows how to get the best from her horses, and the presence of placed finishes — including that recent second — hints that there is ability there. For a three-year-old still early in a racing career, two placings from four races is respectable. The key now will be whether that ability translates into a breakthrough win soon, or whether My Cubby Bear settles into a pattern of coming close without quite getting over the line.
