Four wins from his last six races is the kind of form that makes people sit up and take notice. His most recent run came just yesterday, a victory at Doncaster on 3 July 2026, and before that he was winning too. The sequence reads 1-1-2-5-1-1 from most recent back, which tells a straightforward story: this horse is in the form of his life. The blip — a fifth place — looks like the exception rather than the rule right now. He first found the winner's enclosure back in October 2025 at Wolverhampton, and something has clearly clicked since then.

Most of his racing has come at Class 6, which is the everyday, bread-and-butter end of British racing. He has won 2 of his 8 races at that level — 1 in every 4 — so he is competitive without being dominant there. What is interesting is that his current purple patch suggests he may be operating well within himself at times, a horse whose confidence is growing with each run.

One slight puzzle in the story is his partnership with jockey Oisin Orr. The two have teamed up five times without a win together, which is an unusual footnote given how well Mwafaq has been going overall. It does not suggest a problem so much as an interesting quirk — different rides, different outcomes.

The Fahey yard has been in fine fettle this season, sending out 23 winners, so Mwafaq is part of a stable that knows how to place horses to win. With a race just yesterday under his belt and his form as sharp as it has been at any point in his career, he is very much one to keep an eye on over the coming weeks.
