Trained by M C Grassick at Curragh, Mr Perth is part of a yard that has already sent out six winners this season, which indicates the team knows how to get horses ready to win. The fact that he was back in action just a day ago shows he is being campaigned regularly and actively — there is no sense of him being left to gather dust. For a 3-year-old still learning the ropes, these regular races are exactly what he needs. That run last time was a seventh-place finish, so he slipped back slightly, but his form over the four races (seventh, then two places, then seventh again) shows he is mixing competitive efforts with tougher afternoons. With two places already banked, Mr Perth looks like a horse that is settling into his stride, and it would not be a shock to see him break through soon.
