Mr Montgomery

The horse is trained by Ollie Sangster at Marlborough in Wiltshire, a yard that has been in tremendous form with 46 winners already this season. That kind of win rate suggests Sangster's stable is doing something right, and there remains time for Mr Montgomery to learn his trade and improve. At just two years old, he is still very much in the early stages of his racing career, and many horses his age are still working out what it takes to win. The pattern of his recent form — 8th, 11th, 6th, and 9th — shows he is running consistently without yet hitting the mark. Whether he will go on to break his duck remains to be seen, but he is at least a horse actively racing and being given opportunities to do so.
