Mr Mercury

The horse is trained by J A Nash at The Curragh in Ireland, a yard that has been sparingly rewarded this season with just one winner sent out so far. For a horse yet to find the winners' circle, the focus will be on whether Mr Mercury can climb from mid-field finishes into the places, and eventually into contention. Racing at three years old, he still has time to develop, though the longer he goes without a win or a place finish, the more difficult it becomes to attract support and competitive opportunities. His next target will tell us whether the trainer believes improvement is imminent or whether Mr Mercury may need to find his level at a different class of race.
