Trainer Dermot McLoughlin, based in Ratoath in Co Meath, has had 10 winners this season from his yard, so the operation is clearly in decent health. The worry is that Mousey Brown hasn't added to its tally since winning at Punchestown back in June 2024 — over two years ago now. Six races without a win since then, including two fifth-place finishes in the most recent outings, suggests this horse may be finding it harder to convert promise into victory at this stage of its career.
That said, Mousey Brown raced just yesterday and is very much active. At nine, it's not a young horse, but it's not done yet either. If McLoughlin can find the right race on a good surface, and O'Hanlon is in the saddle, the combination that first clicked at Wexford in May 2023 could still have another win in it.
