Moonrunner

The horse's recent form has been decidedly mixed. In the last six races, Moonrunner has placed twice — both fourth-place finishes sandwiching some middling results that include a pair of fourth-placed efforts and runs of fifth and third. That spread of form, from third to fifth and back to fourth again, speaks to a horse that is competitive enough to stay in contention but hasn't yet found the consistency or the race setup needed to get over the line. With no wins from six attempts, Moonrunner remains winless, but the presence of those placings means there is a base to work from rather than a pattern of complete failure. The most recent outing was just a day ago, showing the horse is actively campaigned and still in work. Whether Fellowes believes a change of tactics, a different distance, or simply another run or two will unlock a breakthrough remains to be seen, but for now Moonrunner is a horse still searching for that elusive first victory.
