The highlight of his career came at York on 17 May 2023, when he won a Class 2 race — one of the better prizes in British racing. Winning at that level, at a track as prestigious as York, is not something most horses ever manage, and it gave a clear indication of what Mon Na Slieve is capable of when everything falls right. Ryan has described him as a five-furlong specialist with the ability to win some nice races, and given that Class 2 victory, that is not wishful thinking.
At five years old and currently active — he raced just yesterday — Mon Na Slieve is in the middle of a run without a win that stretches back 13 months, since a success at Ayr in June 2025. His recent form reads 7-3-12-5-6-2, which shows flashes of competitiveness without the win to match. Tom Eaves, who has partnered him in 10 of his 31 races for 1 win together, remains the regular jockey. Ryan's yard has been in fine form this season with 45 winners, so the infrastructure is there. Mon Na Slieve just needs the sun to stay out.
