Mo Anam Chara

Trained by Mark Fahey out of Cloneygath in County Kildare, Mo Anam Chara is part of a yard that clearly knows how to get horses winning — 24 winners already this season is a solid return, and it tells you the operation is in good shape. The fact that this particular horse hasn't managed to convert that into a win of its own yet is one of those puzzles every yard has to solve at some point. A second place shows the ability is lurking somewhere; the job now is figuring out when and where to unlock it.

At three years old, there is still time on Mo Anam Chara's side. Raced just yesterday, it is clearly an active campaign, and Fahey is evidently not giving up on finding the right opportunity. Sometimes a horse simply needs everything to fall into place — the right race, the right conditions, the right day. Whether Mo Anam Chara can find that combination remains the question, but with a yard firing on all cylinders around it, the support is certainly there.
