Mister Pink

That most recent victory came at Punchestown in October 2024, which is now 21 months in the rear-view mirror. Since then, Mister Pink has gone six races without winning — finishing second once but mostly hovering in the fourth-to-seventh range. The runs aren't disgraces, but they're not threatening the winner's enclosure either. For context, the second place is the only time in those six races that the horse has really made anyone lean forward.

The interesting number, though, is on normal ground: two wins from five races, a 40% win rate. That's genuinely striking — winning 2 in every 5 races on a specific surface is the kind of stat that makes a trainer think carefully about where to run next. Everything else being equal, Mister Pink is a different horse when conditions are right underfoot.

Trainer Ross O'Sullivan operates out of Kilcullen in County Kildare, and the yard is clearly in good nick right now — 40 winners on the board this season, which is a healthy, busy operation. The fact that Mister Pink raced just yesterday tells you the team still believes there's a race to be won here. Horses don't keep getting entries if the yard — sorry, if the yard — has given up on them.

At eight, the window isn't getting wider, but Mister Pink's record on normal ground gives O'Sullivan something to aim at. Find the right conditions, find the right race, and this is a horse that has shown it can deliver. It's just a matter of whether those pieces fall into place before the career winds down.
