Missouri Snow

What makes this particularly impressive is the timing. Missouri Snow didn't win as a young horse breaking its maiden at two or three; it's already five years old and has just proved, for the first time, that it has what it takes to beat other racehorses. That's unusual. Horses that reach five without a win are often written off, so winning now raises an obvious question: how good is this horse really? One win tells you something, but it doesn't tell you everything. The next few races will matter enormously—whether it can repeat the trick, whether it can step up in class, whether it was a one-off or the beginning of something genuine.
