Her breakthrough came at Wolverhampton on 28 June 2026, and she followed up with a second victory at Leicester less than a month later. Since that Leicester win two months ago, however, the form has flatlined. Her last six runs show a pattern of near-misses: an eighth place most recently, then tenth, followed by a pair of second-place finishes and two thirds. She's clearly capable of running well — those placings prove that — but she hasn't found the winner's circle again since July, and that's beginning to feel like a real drought for a horse of her ability.

What makes her interesting is that she's trained by Edward Smyth-Osbourne at Upper Lambourn, a yard that has been sending out winners regularly this season. Smyth-Osbourne clearly knows what he's doing, and Miss Nightcap's record suggests she has the talent to break through again. The question now is whether she can recapture the form that brought those early victories. She's still active and still racing, which means the opportunity is there — but time will tell whether those two wins were a sign of things to come or a false promise.
