What the numbers do show is that she is competitive. Her recent form reads 3-4-2-4-3-10 going back through her last six races, and that second place near the middle of that sequence suggests she came agonisingly close at least once. She raced just yesterday, so she is clearly fit and active, and Peter Fahey's yard at Monasterevin in County Kildare is sending out winners at a decent clip — 14 this season alone — which means she is in capable hands.
The question hanging over Miss Crinshawn is whether a win is coming or whether she is simply one of those horses who finds one or two too good on the day, every time. Racing is full of horses who place consistently without ever breaking through, and at nine races in with no win, the pattern is starting to become a talking point. That said, Fahey is an experienced trainer who knows how to place a horse, and the fact that she keeps running and keeps finishing in and around the places suggests the team still believe the right race is out there for her. Whether she can finally convert remains the most interesting thing about her right now.
