Miss Brazen

Her last victory came four months ago at Nottingham, and her form since then has been mixed. In her last six races she has finished third, fifth, fifth, sixth, third, and first—that last one just yesterday—suggesting she can still deliver on her day but is finding consistent success harder to come by. She shows particular aptitude at Thirsk, where she has won two of her six races at that track, a sign that the course and its characteristics suit her racing style. She was first saddled up to race back in May 2022 at Redcar, where she recorded a debut win that announced her as a horse with promise.

Joanna Mason, her most regular jockey, has ridden her fourteen times and steered her to one victory together, a partnership that has not quite clicked at the rate either would have hoped. The Easterby yard, based at Sheriff Hutton in North Yorkshire, has been prolific this season with 55 winners, and Miss Brazen remains part of their string.
