Miss Americana

Her recent form is a mixed picture. Two runner-up finishes in her last six races show she can run well when the mood takes her, but those results are sandwiched around some disappointing efforts — a pair of ninth-place finishes and a seventh suggest consistency is the missing piece. She raced just yesterday, so she is very much in active training and her the yard clearly have more plans in place.

She is trained by Charles O'Brien at his yard in Straffan, County Kildare, one of Irish racing's more established addresses. It has been a modest season for the stable so far — just one winner to their name this term — so a first victory for Miss Americana would be genuinely welcome at both ends. At four years old, she still has time on her side, and those placed efforts are a reminder that the talent may be there. Whether she can finally convert it into a win is the question her next run will need to start answering.
