The trainer, Billy Aprahamian, operates out of Towcester in Northamptonshire and has had a productive season, sending out 12 winners. That is a yard in decent form, not a small operation hoping for scraps.

One slight puzzle in the record is that Miracles Do Happen has been running mostly at Class 4 level — the middle tier of British racing — without winning any of those four attempts. Its one success came in a different class of race entirely. Whether Aprahamian now targets similar opportunities to the Taunton win, or steps the horse up to test itself at a higher level, will be interesting to watch. For now, the horse raced just yesterday and is clearly in active work. The name has finally lived up to itself once; the question is whether it can do so again.
