Millhone

The challenge for Millhone is that after six consecutive races without a win, momentum is harder to build. In racing, a horse that places often but never quite crosses the line first can become known as a nearly-horse—talented enough to trouble the winners but not quite able to seal the deal. With zero wins from ten attempts, the margins are clearly small, but they are real. Charles Weld's Newbridge yard in Kildare has had only one winner this season, so Millhone is part of a team that is working to break through themselves. At three years old and still racing, there is time for Millhone to find that first victory, but it will need to come soon for the horse to build any real momentum in its racing career.
