Messonghi

Messonghi is a five-year-old still searching for a breakthrough after three races without a win or a place finish. The horse raced just yesterday, so it remains active and in work under trainer P J Rothwell at Tinahely in County Wicklow. Rothwell's yard has had a solid season, sending out 35 winners, so there is experience and capability in the team. At this stage of Messonghi's career—three runs with nothing to show for it—the horse is clearly still finding its feet in competitive racing. Whether it will turn the corner and find the form needed to break into the winner's circle remains to be seen, but it is still getting the chance to do so.
