Menez Are is a four-year-old horse still searching for a breakthrough after one race without success. Trained by
Paul John Gilligan at Athenry in County Galway, the horse finished eleventh on its only outing just a day ago. Gilligan's yard has managed five winners this season, suggesting the trainer knows how to get horses to the winner's enclosure, even if Menez Are hasn't found that formula yet. With only one race under its belt, there is plenty of time for this horse to learn and improve. The real test will come in its next appearance, when we'll see whether it can turn a disappointing debut into a stepping stone toward better things.
