Mehmas Star is a two-year-old making its way into racing with K. R. Burke's yard in North Yorkshire, one of the busiest in the country this season. The trainer has already sent out 145 winners, so the young horse is learning the trade from someone who knows what they are doing. In its sole race so far, just a day ago, Mehmas Star ran into some tough competition and finished second — not a winning debut, but a placed effort that shows promise for a newcomer still finding its feet on the track. With only one race under its belt, there is plenty of time for this horse to develop and improve as it gains experience in the coming months.
