That one win came at Exeter on 21 October 2025, and it told you something useful about where she is at her best. She performs over long distances — races of two miles or more — and has won 1 of her 16 attempts at that kind of trip, a 6% win rate that might not sound much but is twice as good as her overall record. Exeter, a demanding track with significant climbs that sorts out the strong stayers from the passengers, suited her well. The track rewards horses who genuinely stay, and she clearly does.

What makes her story a little different is her background. She began her career on the Flat in Ireland before joining trainer Seamus Mullins at his yard in Wiltshire, where she was brought in to race for 69 Racing Team, a syndicate run by Simon Prout. Mullins, who has sent out 10 winners this season, describes her as a summer horse — one who comes alive when the ground dries out and the days get longer. She has been on a winter break since early in the new year, and the plan is to bring her back into action in March or April. That kind of patience with a horse's preferences is often what separates a trainer who gets the best from a horse from one who simply runs them.

Her recent record shows six races without a win, and regular jockey Micheal Nolan is yet to get her to the line first across their seven rides together. But context matters. Mullins is candid that she has more to offer — not just over hurdles, but possibly back on the Flat, in the style of his other horse Basilette. A horse with options is a horse with a future, and Masonbrook Meadow, still only five, is only just getting started.
