Marianita

Marianita is a three-year-old still hunting for a first victory after four outings without a win or a place finish. The horse raced just yesterday and is clearly an active part of Ralph Beckett's Kimpton yard, which has been in strong form this season with 107 winners already sent out. Beckett is a trainer who knows how to develop young horses, so there remains time for Marianita to turn things around — three-year-olds are often still finding their feet, and a horse's career is far from defined by early struggles. With recent results showing some near-misses (a fourth place in the last run suggests the horse is competitive enough to get close), Marianita may yet break through. For now, though, it remains a work in progress.
