That tells you this is a horse competing at the lower end of the sport — Class 6 races, which are essentially the entry-level tier of British racing. And yet within that level, at distances between a mile and three furlongs and a mile and four furlongs, he has won 1 from 4 races, which works out at 25%, or one in every four attempts. That is a meaningful difference. It suggests he is not without ability — he just needs the right conditions to show it, and when those conditions align, he can be competitive.

His recent form reads 8-7-2-3-3 in his last five completed races, which means he has been placed twice and run close on two other occasions without getting back to the winner's enclosure since that February win seven weeks ago. The pattern is familiar: involved, competitive, but not quite getting there.

His most regular jockey is Wesley Joyce, who has ridden him in 15 of his races without a win between them. That is a long partnership to maintain without a winner, though it is worth noting the single win did not come with Joyce aboard either. Trainer David Flood operates out of Stow-on-the-Wold in Gloucestershire, a yard that has sent out just two winners this season.
